Kinkalows are friendly, smart, and curious! These cats were developed by crossing American Curls with Munchkins. They inherit the curled ears from the American Curls and the short legs from the Munchkins.
The dwarfing gene found in the Munchkins that produces the foreshortened legs is a dominant gene. The curled ear gene in the American Curls is also dominant, producing the ideal Kinkalow with curled ears and short legs. These cats come in both longhair and shorthair. They also come in all colors.
Kittens with straight ears and/or long legs may be born in Kinkalow litters. These are registered as non-standard Kinkalows and may be used in breeding programs.
